Today's drive took us from Colorado to Arizona. We stopped at Four Corners, the only point in the US, where four states (Colorado, Arizona, New Mexico and Utah) meet. Next stop and the destination for the day was Monument Valley. Monument valley is the famous state park in Navajo Tribal Park. Navajo land has its own laws. Take care. For example, alcohol is not permitted. We arrived on Mittenview Campground our home for one night, before we started to the optional Jeep tour. This ride in an open Jeep was guided by two Navajos. They showed us many good views and we had big fun in the Jeeps. At one place, we stopped to see a Navajo house and how they live. You only get there with local guides. Actually, it was a bit a tourist show, ut it was quite intersting anyway. Just imagine how many movies and commercials were recorded in all these places. It looks so familiar and so strange, and first of all so impressive! It's just massive. Enjoy the views and let yourself be touched. |
