We left early from the Holiday Inn Boeing Field Hotel in Seattle. After a few shopping and phone stops, we drove straight to Mount Rainier N.P.. It was a rainy day.

At the Longmire Wilderness Information Center (park entrance) and the Longmire Museum, you can learn a lot about the park, Mount Rainier and the nature and wildlife. Take your time to visit.

Henry M. Jackson Memorial Visitor Center was our lunch site. It's a good startingpoint for some short or medium hikes. Because of the weather and snow, we took a short walk. We also stopped at Narada Falls.

We spent our first night in Yakima on the local KOA camp ground, where we also learned everything about camping, the next 3 weeks and made our groups for cooking and other work. Also Monica and Luisa finally got their bags from the local airport.
